The Infocom Student Workshop is a forum for graduate students all over the world to interact with their peers, publicize and get feedback on their work. It is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, make contacts, and learn how other students are furthering Networking research. Students will also be able to interact with well-established researchers in the field who will participate in the workshop as mentors and organizers. Panel discussions will be held on topics of interest to students. Some of the panel topics being considered include "How to pick an interesting research topic" , and "Interviewing for a job after completing your PhD". These panels will provide a forum for discussion, allowing both younger and older established researchers in the field and student attendees to interact. The workshop will be a day-long program consisting mainly of panel discussions and poster sessions. Students should submit poster abstracts by January 16th 2009 (Please see Call For Abstracts for more details). All students whose poster abstracts are accepted may attend the workshop and present their poster.

Instructions to submit the final version of your abstract can be found here (deadline March 15th)

Instructions for the Poster Sessions

The Infocom Student Workshop will consist of two poster sessions, each 2 hours long. The posters should be wall-mountable, A0 size in portrait mode, that is the shorter side should be horizontal. Please ensure that your poster meets this requirement. Please check the program to see which session your poster is in. If you see any conflicts/problems with this list, do let us know.

Poster setup for first session: 8:00 am - 8:30 am (along with breakfast)

First poster session: 10:30 am - 12:30 am

Poster setup for second session: 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm (along with lunch)

Second poster session: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Note that the poster sessions overlap with coffee breaks. This overlap has been done on purpose, so that folks attending other sessions can come during the breaks to view student posters. However you should feel free to take short breaks whenever you need to. Note that poster presenters should take down their posters at the end of their session.

We would also like everyone to know that there are no poster printing facilities close to the hotel. So do have your poster printed in advance.
